The 2nd Annual Halloween In La Mesa Village

Participating stores will have balloons & fun-themed social distance decals on the sidewalk as you safely pick up a pre-packaged treat! Everything will take place outside.

A Spooky Spokes Week With The San Diego Bike Coalition
The San Diego Bike Coalition is riding with the ghouls this year for Spooky Spokes Week. To celebrate the Halloween Spirit, the Bike Coalition is hosting a week-long riding event. There’ll be prizes, costumes, trivia, and of course, lots of riding.
barleymash, in the Gaslamp, will be hosting a Virtual Costume Contest that began October 6th and is taking place through Halloween. Participants can show off their outfit creations by tagging @barleymash on Instagram, and will have the chance to win prizes such as $200 gift card (1st place), $100 gift card (2nd place), $50 gift card (3rd place), and Barleymash swag.
On October 31st, guests can enjoy Halloween-themed food and drink, such as the Give’m Pumpkin to Talk About, a roasted pumpkin flatbread with arugula, garlic cream, caramelized onions, three cheese blend and pickled hallow-penos. Because 2020 needs a superhero, Duck Dive, in PB, will be celebrating Halloween in superhero-style! On Wednesday, October 28th, Superhero Trivia will take place beginning at 8PM. Costumes encouraged all week long and the beach bar’s spooky decor officially goes up on Monday October 26th. On Halloween day, from 10AM to 10PM, Mavericks is going all out with their 2020 Nightmare themed decor, Haunted Special Cocktail Menu, spooky swag and more. This promises to be one Halloween celebration you won’t forget!
For those planning to celebrate low key this Halloween, check out San Diego’s favorite ramen spot for a terrifyingly tasty ramen! Tajima has created a mouth-watering monster with their Frankenstein’s Creation, consisting of Tajima’s original green coconut curry broth, spinach noodles, chicken chashu, fish sauce, half a ramen egg, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, basil, bean sprouts, lime wedge, and sesame seeds. Groups who come to dine in their Halloween costumes will receive a large hot sake to enjoy with their meal!
Just in time for Halloween, Puesto Mexican Artisan Kitchen & Bar is introducing a new Fall-themed cocktail. Dubbed the Cold-Buttered Rum, the cocktail combines Puesto’s Rum Blend, Mulled Cider, Lemon, Walnuts, and Black Tea, which is then washed with clarified butter. The festive cocktail will be available at Puesto’s newest location, Puesto Mission Valley throughout Halloween weekend, and cost $15.
Halloween Pop-up Bake Sales At Ranch 45
To celebrate Halloween this year, Ranch 45 has partnered with Friendly Feast to host a Halloween-themed pop-up at the Solana Beach restaurant. The event, which will take place on Saturday, October 31 from 11AM to 12:30PM, will feature pastry boxes filled with Halloween treats. Each box will include six treats from top San Diego chefs, and highlights include candy corn marshmallows, gluten free pumpkin spiced muffins, chocolate caramel sandwich cookies, black sesame and orange chocolate bars, pumpkin spice rice krispies, and more.
Joining Ranch 45’s baker Calvin Mack for the event will be Maeve Rochford from Sugar and Scribe, Suellen Drummond from Favela Bonita, Kaitlyn Lloyd from San Diego Sweets, Laura and Natalie from Bliss & Baker, and James Foran a Baking and Pastry Faculty Instructor at Grossmont College. Boxes will be available for pre-order on Friendly Feast’s website HERE starting October 20, with boxes ready for pickup on Halloween. Boxes are priced at $35, and proceeds benefit Friendly Feast and Monarch School, whose mission is educating students impacted by homelessness.

In honor of Halloween, The Presley, Good Time Design’s (Moonshine Beach, Moonshine Flats) newest venue, is introducing Presley Potion, their special spooky season Halloween cocktail. Made with light rum, strawberry puree, and fresh lime juice, the cocktail will be offered at a special price of $10. In addition to the Presley Potion, the restaurant will be celebrating the holiday with Halloween goodie bags for children who dine at the restaurant during Halloween weekend, and a doggie costume contest.
The contest, which is sponsored by Tito’s Vodka, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 2PM at the restaurant. Churro Pop-up At The Gluten Free Baking Co.
There are lots of ways to celebrate Halloween with The Gluten Free Baking Co. this year. Their spooky menu offerings include everything from candy cupcakes and donuts to candy apple decorating kits – the perfect at-home activity for everyone. Additionally, on Halloween, The Gluten Free Baking Co. will have a churro pop up from 4PM to 6:30PM in partnership with Madre Churro & Cacao.
